Women’s organisation’s
set-up prescribed by the President in consultation with the Working
Committee is given in Appendix 6.
Part IX
Dismissal from Positions in the Jama’at
1.
Dismissal of the Councils’ Members
Article 89
Any member of the Council
(central or subordinate) shall be dismissed from the council, if he:
a.
Ceases to
be a member of the Jama’at-e-Islami Pakistan, or
b.
Absents
himself continuously from two sessions of his council without any
valid reason, or
c.
Resigns from council’s membership and the concerned President
accepts his resignation, or
d.
The assembly of members from his constituency expresses
no-confidence against him with at least 2/3rd majority.
2.
Expulsion from the Jama’at
Article 90
1.
Expulsion of a member of the Jama’at shall be only when he:
a.
Deviates from his covenant of membership by word or by deed, or
b.
Violates Jama’at’s discipline, or
c.
Does
anything opposed to the announced policy of the Jama’at, or
d.
Commits a
deed that is damaging for Jama’at’s ethical and religious position,
or
e.
It is
evident from his attitude that his association with the Jama’at is
not that of sincerity, or
f.
Ceases to
take interest in the Jama’at’s work.
2.
If a District President feels himself or on the report of a
subordinate President that a member of his district has violated any
of the sub-clauses of the above Clause 1 to such an extent that he
should be removed from the Jama’at’s membership, he shall send his
report through the higher set-ups’ Presidents to the Central
President.
3.
The final decision for expulsion shall be at the Central President’s
discretion. However, a Provincial or Divisional or District
President may suspend the membership, if he deems it necessary,
until the decision of the Central President.
3.
Dissolution and Suspension of Subordinate Units
Article 91
If Jama’at’s requirements and interests so demand,
the President is authorised to suspend a subordinate unit, and, in
consultation with his Working Committee, dissolve it.
Article 92
All matters pertaining to
suspension and dissolution of subordinate units or expulsion of
members that may have taken place since the last session of the
Council shall be presented before the Council in the next session.
4.
Limits of Disagreement in the Jama’at-e-Islami Pakistan
Article 93
Those members who remain steadfast in their covenant
of adherence to the Jama’at’s Constitution but whose view-point is
different from Jama’at’s decisions with regard to the strategies for
the realisation of its mission, shall have to observe the following:
1.
They shall have full right to express their differences of opinion
in an assembly of members, but they shall not be entitled to use the
press or any public platform for this end, nor shall they have the
right to canvass among individual members of the Jama’at.
2.
They shall accept the decisions arrived at by majority vote in the
Jama’at as Jama’at’s decisions. However, they shall have the right
to try to get those decisions changed in the relevant assembly of
members, remaining within the determined limits.
3.
If a member expresses his difference with the established policy of
the Jama’at, he shall no longer hold such a position in the Jama’at
that demands implementation or interpretation of Jama’at’s policies.
